About Us

The development and distribution of the CAD/CAM Kovoprog program perform Peska & Brtna Computer Service ltd. company, settled in Tabor, Czech Republic.

In 1988, far before the age of PC, the predecessor of CAD/CAM Kovoprog was developed in the Kovosvit National Concern. The program was written in BASIC for the Hewlett Packard (HP 30 and HP 45) and Metra Blansko (IT 20) computers.

The first version of CAD/CAM Kovoprog was programmed in Turbo Pascal in the year 1989.

Peska & Brtna Computer Service ltd. company

The turning point was the year 1990, when the CAD/CAM Kovoprog development team formed the private company. In this year, the CAD/CAM Kovoprog Version 2 (written in Turbo Pascal) was created. At its time, CAD/CAM Kovoprog Version 2 was a very powerful tool, which was commonly used in the Czech mechanical engineering industry. Many companies rely on this program until today. The superiority of this program was based on the possibility of writing own macros to describe extraordinary technological methods.

Founding of Peska & Brtna Computer Service ltd. company

Mr. Jiri Peska and Mr. Zbynek Brtna established the final form of the Developer Company, Peska & Brtna Computer Service Ltd. in 1992.

CAD/CAM Kovoprog Version 3 (written in C++) for MS DOS

CAD/CAM Kovoprog Version 3 (written in C++) for MS DOS goes to distribution in 1996. Version 3 had a windows-like user interface and was very successful in about 2 years it was distributed. It was replaced in 1998 by the current Version 4 for MS Windows.

For Windows, version 4.00 is coming to market

Originally included Wire Cutting and since 1999-2000 also the Machining module is available.

There is a division and settlement of company owners

In 2002, Mr. Peska conveys the running of the company entirely to Mr. Brtna and leaves. The company however, continues under the same name, Peska & Brtna Computer Service ltd. Today, the Peska & Brtna Company are settled in Tabor, Czech Republic. The development and distribution of the CAD/CAM Kovoprog program is the primary company activity.
